Matthias Langhoff stages the real of his own nightmare. He knows allthesame that nothing of his real can be passed on to others. The idea of presenting his real on stage is therefore, according to him, "a pure illusion", but one he "can't do without". Beyond this particular real, it is also the real of langage that is brought up here. The director formerly left Germany for France, the country from where he thinks and "gazes" in a language different from the one which he was born into. If he conceives language as "the real of thought", he also wonders whether we follow the language – as it might appear – or whether it's not the language "that actually make commentary on what we're doing"…
