Luiz Garrocho, playwright of physical theatre and director of artistic street performances:
"What moves me, motivates me, is something which can elude me, but at the same time, has been produced by me. That's what can be felt in a performance: there must be something which slips out. I can't say much of this something which moves me, because it escapes me !".
"At the theatre , not all of my gaze is framed or filtered ; it's driven by this recurring pattern, which is childhood. A leitmotiv. I think that acting, playing, offer the possibility of an opening onto another world, not just one world, but several worlds. Perhaps we are all thinking about what death is. These are poetic answers that take place within the materiality of life. They are powerful, not because they are a kind of fantasy made to endure the real, but because they are the real. "
"In the 21st century, I've noticed the disappearance of sensitiveness, and I am truly struck by the absence of characters. And there is something almost akin to a universal state of war. I think this is the century of total war."
